Miss Muenster Contest

To parents and contestants:

The Miss Muenster Contest is not a new idea to Muenster! Back in the early years of Germanfest, they crowned one winner over multiple years. However, this time, we hope to announce several winners to represent Muenster each year! One from each age bracket, or two to four contestants will be picked for the opportunity to represent the community of Muenster in advertising for one year. This includes marketing materials presented on print and social media. Names in this instance will NOT be noted. However, where personal appearances are warranted, names will be used, such as the Christmas parade or other local civic events.

AGE BRACKETS:
Little Miss Muenster: Ages 7-10
Junior Miss Muenster: Ages 11-14
Miss Muenster: Ages 15-18
Miss Muenster Ambassador: Ages 19-22

RULES and QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Applications: Please complete the attached application form and bring to the Muenster Chamber of Commerce office BEFORE Oct. 1, 2025. There is no application fee. This is a free event!
  2. Contestant MUST appear in full, authentic and MODEST dirndl attire- (this includes shoes.) Please, no cosplay or Halloween costumes.
  3. Contestants MUST be from the Muenster community. (Must attend school at Sacred Heart, Muenster Public School or home schooled and reside in Muenster). College students with a permanent address in Muenster are accepted. All others must live and work in Muenster.
  4. Participants will be asked questions by the announcer on the Klement Ford stage in Fuhrman Hall.
  5. All participants must abide by the judges' final decision.


CONTEST:
Little Miss Muenster: 6 questions; these are given ahead of time for the contestants.
Junior Miss Muenster: 10 questions; these are given ahead of time for the contestants.
Miss Muenster: 10 questions; 5 questions given ahead of time; 5 surprise questions.
Miss Muenster Ambassador: 10 questions; all surprise questions.

SCORING:
A panel of three out-of-town judges will score the following from the questions:
Completeness of answer
Clarity of Speech
Confidence and poise
Age-appropriate content
Appearance

AWARDS:
Each age bracket (if applicable) will have one winner. They will each receive a Miss Muenster sash and a floral crown. The sash will be relinquished when next year's contest takes place. The floral crown is a gift to keep
