Wurst Eating Contest Rules
General Information
- Maximum of 20 contestants.
- Entry fee it $10 a person.
- Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. The first 20 applications with payment that are received will be in the Brat Eating contest, all others will be placed on a waiting list.
- Proof of identification is required on the day of the event (must be over 18 to participate)
- Must sign a waiver form on the day of the event.
- All contestants will receive a T-shirt.
- Entry fees are non-refundable.
Prizes
- $250 Winner of the Wurst Eating Contest
- Men’s Champion and Women’s Champion
Date, Time, and Location
- Contest starts at 7:20 PM Friday October 1st at Oktoberfest
- 6:40 PM All registration begins.
- 7:00 PM- Contestants check in at the check-in stage. If any of the 20 pre-registered contestants have not checked in, we will start to call from the waiting list
- 7:15PM The Contest rules and meeting begins, and the 20 contestants are announced at the eating site.
Competition Rules
- Contest will last 10 minutes.
- There will be a Men’s Champion and a Women’s Champion.
- Champions will be determined by the number of brats consumed. That means when we call time, what is in your mouth must be swallowed.
- Brats will be “naked”. There will be no buns or condiments.
- You will be provided water. If you would like to drink something else, you must provide it for yourself.
- If you vomit you will be disqualified and must clean up your own mess.
- No cheating.

Wurst Race 5K & Half Marathon
October 2, 2021
Come to the charming German town of Muenster and run the best Wurst Race in Texas! You will have the option to tackle either of our certified races at the distances of 5K or half marathon, which are both entirely on pavement. Runners will start near the heart of the community where they will encounter a lakefront view and a stretch in the scenic downtown area featuring our historic church and the ...Sacred Heart school building which is over 100 years old. The half marathon will continue on by the hometown baseball fields and roll into an area that is both picturesque and challenging.
This is a fundraising event sponsored by the Alumni & Supporters. Inc., which exists solely for the benefit of Sacred Heart Catholic School in Muenster, Texas. It is through this organization that we work so hard to save and/or raise money to go toward reducing the cost of tuition for every child who attends our school. Funds raised are also used to assist a variety of needs including building and maintenance, textbooks and athletic expenses. Sacred Heart Catholic School is a preschool through grade 12 coeducational Catholic school, which began in April of 1890 and continues to excel today.

8:00 a.m. - Half Marathon
There is a 4 hour time limit (8-12) for competitors to complete the half marathon.
Soft T-shirts available in Adult Small - 3XL for all 5K and Half Participants
Award Information
Everyone receives a finishers medal for running the half!!
Half Awards
- 1st/2nd/3rd Place Overall Male/Female will receive a German Beer Stein
- Masters Overall Male/Female will receive a German Beer Stein
- Top 3 Male & Female finishers in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over will receive medals
5K Awards
- 1st Place Overall Male/Female will receive a German Beer Stein
